Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The thing that reaaallly bugged me was the volume of lead balloons they launched.

The musical interlude with the heads of the other houses, for instance. When that was going on I got all, 'It's a pandemic!' panicky. But no. No follow through.

YES. yes.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I remember the music being horrible.

I think the first had original music and the second was all covers. I thought the one that used original music was better.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Didn't the second have the Joxer music video sequence? That was a thing of beauty.

Okay, so, Due South. I've always seen it in the tag for this thread, but I've never seen an episode of it before. The complete series is currently available on Amazon for $16.49. I'm tempted to get it since I normally love most things that Buffistas love. Why do you guys love it so much? And I've always been curious why it's included in Boxed Set since the description doesn't seem Sci Fi/Fantasy?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not a huge spoiler or anything to tell you the factor of it that's fantastical--do you want to know? If so, highlight below:

Basically, ghosts are real. Fraser sees the ghost of his father.

Other than that, it's straight up buddy cop with a heart. And a deaf dog.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Once Upon a Time - with this episode, Dr. Jiminy has rocketed past Hot Sheriff to become my favorite character.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Rayne, where do you find the complete Due South for that price? I can find seasons 1-3 pack for that price, but season 4 is $31.

The set lumps seasons 3 and 4 together and calls it season 3. It contains all 68 episodes that were made.

And thanks ita for clearing that up! I often wondered why Due South was considered fantasy!

Don't forget Fraser's occasional unexplained superpowers....
