I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Rory is just the best.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Anyone else find that animated AT&T Doctor Who thing annoying?

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

So, I'm slightly iffy on the latest Who, but I did realize a couple things:

First, the reason things concluded that way? was to close off the possibility of regeneration energy shenanigans being the solution to the Doctor's death. We've seen it do crazy stuff before, and Moffat knew the fans would be bugging him about that.

Second, I'm now less sure about River/Melody being in the spacesuit at Lake Silencio. It doesn't seem to fit her timeline now, with her working out the "kill the Doctor" compulsion Mara Jade-style. Unless the Silence capture her and put her back in the spacesuit after when we see her here.

What if the Silence and Mme. Kovarion knew when and where and how the Doctor died, and tried to set it up so they were responsible?

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I would also say, chris, that it was necessary to make the library episodes work, otherwise River would have been able to regenerate, rather than be trapped in the mainframe (Can I just say that, knowing her now, that seems like a fairly awful fate? The Doctor is really good at saving people in really horrible-for-them ways. Guilt, indeed.)

The person in the space suit was clearly a little girl, so it can't be after this in her timeline, since she can't regenerate again.

I think The Question will end up being important. Not sure how, yet. If The Answer After The Silence is 42, I believe that that will not, in fact, be awesome.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The person in the space suit was clearly a little girl

The person in the space suit in Florida was clearly a little girl (Melody). The person in the space suit at Lake Silencio, we never saw.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Ooooh, fair point.

Also, if the Doctor couldn't survive by regenerating(which was explicitly stated), likely River couldn't either.

At 10 EST tonight a new web series begins. Stars (co-stars?) Misha Collins. Sounds like there's supernatural elements.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Wow. I don't quite know how I feel about that episode of Doctor Who. A whole lot of WTF moments, but not much that adds up to real character development or forwarding of the plot. I did kind of like that they just left Hitler in a closet.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I think it might have been that the writers wanted to get off of the Melody-River plotline, so they needed to wrap this section of that up in one episode (Find Melody! Oh, we did. And now she's grown up and needs her space...'kay...). That way, they can go have other adventures.

That they put themselves there in the first place is a whole other thing.

I also have deeply mixed feelings about the choices they made around the inter-racial regeneration.
