Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Dan, when did the Doctor take her out for her birthday? Does that mean we didn't move backwards in her timeline as we've been doing up 'til now?

Sumi -- BBCA aired episode 6 tonight while BBC UK aired episode 7, the mid-season finale. We're talking about the latter. The former doesn't need white-fonting.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Jon,

River told Rory about her Date with the Doctor, including Stevie Wonder. "It's my birthday, the Doctor took me skating on the river Thames in 1814...."

Art Crawl!!!

I found the episode confusing. When did the Doctor realize that Amy wasn't Amy?

Does this mean he knew about the flesh all along?

And is this the same stuff that preserved Lady Cassandra's face?

Ahh, I misunderstood you, Dan. Thanks.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

When River Song first said she had been put in prison for killing a good man, the mental image I had was of her killing the Doctor because he had ordered/begged her to stop him from doing (or becoming) something so dire, so important, that if killing him was the only way to stop him, then she would. She would kill him because she loves him, and because she loves him, understands why it has to be that way. It's a heart-breaking thing. But I certainly prefer it to thoughts of her killing Rory .

Yes, and don't forget that somebody in the astronaut suit - which was built for the little girl - DOES end up apparently really killing the Doctor.

I just watched Ep. 7 with a thunderstorm outside - very fitting!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Am I the only one who, after watching DW 6.07, really, really wants a spin-off series about the Victorian-era Silurian detective-adventurer? I absolutely adored her, and I had to pause the video at the visual punchline to the "why do you put up with me?" line because I was laughing so damned hard.

Fiona, what you said has me wondering if River was framed to some degree. She certainly doesn't seem to find Stormcage a hardship. Also, a prison is damned good protection.

Oooh, oooh, I just had a thought. If River really IS part TimeLord, and if she can regenerate (let's assume so, if the little girl who was shown regenerating is her, though it's still the question what the hell she was doing in New York in 1970, but let that pass), then all that needs to be done is pull her out of the Library memory banks somehow and she'll be fine. Or, well, she'll regenerate.

Or something.

ETA: Anne, don't forget that the little girl is a weapon. And weapons kill .
