Neil Gaiman just tweeted that io9 says to use his Dr. Who ep to convert people into Whovians.
Hm.
Must go read source material.
'Selfless'
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Yeah, I'm recording the finale. Might even watch it live, if nothing else is going on Friday. This will probably end with me re-reading my favorite SV fic, which isn't exactly a tragedy.
I agree with the "it was OK" statement.
If that makes any sense to you.
It does. I think you're right. I'm just not used to have a character that I think is more awesome than the Doctor on board. The companions, mostly, were equivalent in awesomeness. But River? She just shines.
I wish this Doctor weren't Matt Smith. I wish I liked Matt Smith better.
I am totally with you, Zen. I so want to love him, but can't. And it isn't even an 11 vs 10 deal. I just don't lose myself in the character when he's playing it. I notice every. little. thing. he. does. And it's not magic.
I'm with Zenkitty. I WANT to like him so much, but he just doesn't do anything for me.
The Rory death scene was ridiculous. How many times can they kill/almost kill him?
Well, I for one will stand up and say I love 11. He's different than 10 (or 9 or...), but I love him. For a young actor he's got the old spirit going bigtime, in my opinion.
Oh, I love the shit out of 11. I think Matt Smith is amazing.

Absolutely.
If one were looking to start watching Who, where should one start?
Probably BEST to start with the Ninth Doctor (Series One). Otherwise, start with the Tenth Doctor (Series Two). Or the Eleventh Doctor (Series Five).
