Jayne: That's a good idea. Good idea. Tell us where the stuff's at so I can shoot you. Mal: Point of interest? Offering to shoot us might not work so well as an incentive as you might imagine.

'Out Of Gas'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

"The first seven episodes of the series will be broadcast in the spring and the final six in the autumn, with a mid-season finale." [link]

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Just rewatched "Silence in the LIbrary" and "Forest of the Dead." I am such a sap I cried at the end... again. But it's weird, as the latest River Song episodes sort of changes how I see the earlier River episodes. For example, in "Silence in the Library" she sees the Doctor and he doesn't recognize her, just as she feared in "The Impossible Astronaut."

When the whole River arc is over, I think it'll be fun to play the River episodes in the order she experiences them.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I do hope we get that first/last meeting.

The title "Silence in the Library" seems like there should be a reference to the Silence somewhere in it, now, though.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

They are color coded based on the opening credits. Normally, the credits are blue. Whenever an episode takes place Over There, the credits are red.

The two sides also have different fringe sciences named in the text of the opening credits.

I wonder, if the 'verses blend together, whether we'll get purplish credits.

For Entrada they alternated between red and blue. Purple would make sense for a merge though.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Wait a second.

Amy sees a Silent at the start of "The Impossible Astronaut." It's a pretty safe bet she's seen the Armstrong clip at some point, but she doesn't react and doesn't have the urge to kill. So has the Doctor already changed history from 1969 onward?

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I'd argue that he has not already changed history at that point, it is only after moon landing happens in the Doctor's timeline that everything changes. Except that future dead doctor is already remembering that more went on in 1969 than "anyone remembers". (From memory, but the sense is right even if the word are not.) I think concentrating too hard on trying to make sense of time travel just produces headaches. Captain Logic is not driving this Tardis.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

It's a pretty safe bet she's seen the Armstrong clip at some point, but she doesn't react and doesn't have the urge to kill.

Is she armed at that time with anything that she could use to kill one? How would that affect her urge? Incidentally, would places where personal weaponry is more frowned upon than here still be mostly infested/occupied? Or are we somehow to assume that Silence HQ is here in the U.S. so once their hold breaks here, it's only a matter of time before they are in full retreat from the whole planet?
