Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Oh dear, what did they have? Did they have some weird thing after the teaser but before the credits??

It's like the stupid thing they had on Castle for three frelling seasons that they've only recently dropped.

“Not dead yet!”

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Last year, ratings were also down in the UK and up in the US, IIRC.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Hmm. It probably was non-newbie-friendly. Not sure that's necessarily a bad thing, but we'll have to see if numbers improve. DW tends to get a lot of plays on the iPlayer, which might help final numbers. (6.4 million still isn't at all bad, though. That would be considered excellent for most UK shows.)

I reckon the ratings were low because the weather was so nice - I was out and about in the sun all day so I missed it and had to watch it later on iPlayer. The ratings will probably creep back up as the weather goes back to its normal gloom.

BAFTA TV nominations are in. And the tv drama with the leading number of noms is... Misfits, with four (including Robert Sheehan and Lauren Socha for Supporting Actor/Actress).

Also Matt Smith is the first actor ever to be nominated for playing Doctor Who. Unfortunately he's up against Benedict Cumberbatch for Sherlock.

Anybody want to pick a best Drama Series? The nominations are Being Human, Downton Abbey, Misfits and Sherlock.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So, what are your thoughts on Sanctuary?

Oh, good for Matt Smith.

My feeling is that Downton Abbey will win Best Drama. It has wider general appeal than the others. It was good, but Being Human was better.

Art Crawl!!!

I uh, haven't seen last night's episode. (Of Sanctuary.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Was Maggie Smith nominated for Downton Abbey? Because she was just marvelous in it. (Yeah, I know it's non-genre...)

Sanctuary seems to be running a series of bottle episodes to make up for all the SFX they lavished on the Hollow Earth episodes. And I found last night's to be pretty boring, actually. Moar Tesla, pleez?
