Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I had to pause the DVR and stand with my nose an inch from the TV so I could get a good look at Opus the Peahen. I think the art was from an existing strip (ISTR Opus having a nose job at one point and looking like that), but the reference to Lindsey Lohan couldn't be from Bloom County, could it?

Baby names: maybe a male version of our Olivia's niece's name (which I have inconveniently forgotten)?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I didn't know that I needed to know the answer to this question, but I absolutely do.

-t, my money is on green. If I can ever catch Wyman on Twitter again I'm gonna ask. Maybe I'll get a "Ha. Green!" out of him.

Male version of Ella? Hm. I don't think we know if Ella is the full name or a shortened version.

Hm, Ella would be hard to masculinize. Maybe not.

Green does seem more likely.

Opus the Peahen [link]

It doesn't match anything in the Sunday Best anthology. I have to stop before I spend all night reading Bloom County and Outland.

[link] says the strip was "tailored" for the show by Berke Breathed. Not sure what that means.

Cool! "Tailored" to me suggests altered rather than "created for" which is what I expected anyway.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Eli is hands-down the most popular boys' name in Brooklyn right now.

Compassionately intolerant

Eli is hands-down the most popular boys' name in Brooklyn right now.

Jessica beat me to it. There are oodles of Eli's in this 'hood. And so many Ellas (both human and canine) that I'm fairly safe slurring those vowels when I can't actually remember a tot or pup's name.

brillig

I don't recall a specific tasering in Bloom County--the books live in my bathroom, so they're well read--but I kind of remember some sort of knock-out method being used on a person who was blithering idiotically.
