UPDATE: A Facebook pal pointed me to this awesome appearance by Dr. Who's Matt Smith on British TV explaining about Non-Newtonian fluids (a.k.a. batter). Why don't we see this on The View or Good Morning America?

Hey, I made non-Newtonian fluid with Dylan just a couple of weeks ago! Only mine's made with borax and glue instead of cornstarch and water.

On Nova's "Making Stuff" they played with non-Newtonian fluids, using cornstarch and water, I believe, and having people run across a tank. It was very cool.
We did cornstarch and water with our Navajo school kids. Much fun was had.
