"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I could only listen while I'm working, but that creeped me right the hell out.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I actually did not love the books. I like Harris's series about the psychic better. I have not seen the series, but I can see how a it would make for first rate TV.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Spoiler tv called this a "prequel" video for the next episode of Doctor Who.

The BBC says the same [link]

Felt a lot like a "Are you my mummy" vibe, but that's not a bad vibe to have.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I love seeing American presidents on Doctor Who. They're about as believable as the big rubber puppet villains.

Man, that was seriously creepy.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

In related news, I finally saw The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances and while I didn't find it scary, it was brilliant. This was the first appearance of Captain Jack, right? I wish I liked other episodes as much as these; I'd still be watching it, but I've found it too uneven. It swings between funny/campy/creepy and heartbreaking&infuriating; I never know how I'm going to feel when I'm done watching. Torchwood is the same, worse if anything. Yes, Doctor Who&Torchwood are too hard on my delicate soul.

Those episodes are by Stephen Moffat, who is now the showrunner. You might want to give the Eleven episodes a try, if you haven't already.

Empty Child/Doctor Dances are my favorites, I think. Having watched a couple of decades of Old Who, having Nine say "Oh, give me a day like this, just one day," was a lot more resonant than others may have found it.

Hell, yeah. I remember Tegan's last episode, which ended with the Daleks wiping out just about everyone we had met throughout the episode who wasn't a show regular, and she left the Doctor because she was tired of all the death and destruction that surrounds him.

So having Nine say "Just this once, everyone lives!!" is a huge thing for him.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Nope. Are they worth a go?

they're great, fluffy fun! nothing exceptional about them. however, having read the books, it kind of taints the show for me. just the way it does when any book is made into a movie/tv show. they never quite live up to the books. the changes Alan Ball makes usually annoy me. one of the only things he's done right was creating the character of Jessica.
