'The Killer In Me'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Cool news on Fringe. I hope season 3 comes out on DVD soon so I can get caught up and watch in real-ish time.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

have either of you read the books?

Nope. Are they worth a go?

Compassionately intolerant

I bet tiggy says the something similar in re: The Southern Vampire series.

It depends.

They are very different than the show. Charlaine Harris considers them a completely different animal. (no pun, really) Some fans don't love the show, but I like them both.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Seska,

I have not read the books and I am entertained by True Blood. BTW, I think the TB discussion is in Premium.

However, I don't think TB is good. I try to keep firm lines between that which I think is good and entertaining and that which is entertaining. TB is the latter. The show, in my view, has pacing issues, and as an audience we are supposed to believe that most of the first 3 seasons together occur in a period of time that is less than 90 days. When you start watching the show, you will realize how ridiculous this is.

It's almost like the writers revel in being on HBO and so they emphasize (WAY over-emphasize in my view) some of the R content for giggles, but don't really service the story. This was particularly true in Season 2 which was one giant WTF.

Not everything can be a Farscape or BSG (first 2 seasons), but do I really need that level of repetition. Every episode?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I could only listen while I'm working, but that creeped me right the hell out.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I actually did not love the books. I like Harris's series about the psychic better. I have not seen the series, but I can see how a it would make for first rate TV.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Spoiler tv called this a "prequel" video for the next episode of Doctor Who.

The BBC says the same [link]

Felt a lot like a "Are you my mummy" vibe, but that's not a bad vibe to have.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I love seeing American presidents on Doctor Who. They're about as believable as the big rubber puppet villains.
