Klingons and Daleks! Amazing "Star Trek vs. Doctor Who" Art Piece
This is like the poster for the greatest crossover movie ever. The Eleventh Doctor and Amy team up with ShatnerKirk and NimoySpock to fight the Klingons, Romulans, Daleks and Cybermen. For the record, though, the Daleks would p0wn the Klingons and Romulans, and then take on the Federation. Artists Mike Mayhew & Rainier Beredo created this piece for the late, lamented Wizard Magazine.

A local paper recently ran this piece on the pilot shoot on a new show based on a comic book called "Locke & Key," written by the son of Stephen King. Huh. I did not know King had a writer-son.
It's basically a haunted house story, it looks like, but has some awesome people involved already. First of all, it stars Miranda Otto! And Nick Stahl, about whom I have mixed feelings, but... OK. But it's the behind-the-scenes folks that peaked my interest the most:
He's talking about executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who are also EPs on Fox's "Fringe" and CBS's "Hawaii Five-0" and wrote the most recent "Star Trek" movie. Josh Friedman, who was show runner on "Sarah Connor Chronicles," wrote the "Locke" pilot script and the director is Mark Romanek ("One Hour Photo").

I kinda like Nick Stahl. I do not like Joe Hill. A friend loaned me Heart-Shaped Box to read and: woof. After a couple of chapters I was skimming. After a couple more I flipped to the last third, on the premise that if peaking ahead made it seem more interesting, I would go back and read the rest of the thing.
So I returned it the next day.
He is probably a better stylist than his dad, but that's a low bar. It was a very Stephen King book, with individual scenes that were effectively creepy in a book that seemed to have more padding than a couple of sofas. And characterization that relied heavily on revelations about abusive parents because I guess that's still a surprising twist to someone in the world? Ugh.
I cannot spell names today for some reason.

Oh, that's disappointing about Joe Hill's books. I'm hoping a good show-runner can take the premise and develop the characters further independently. Not sure whether Friedman is going to be on board for the long-haul, but if he signs on as the show-runner, I'm going to give the show a chance just to see him do his thing. [/still not over TSCC being cancelled]
Every time I see Nick Stahl, I have to curb an urge to yell out, "YOUNG MAN, stand up straight! And go take a bath!"

Yeap. It really took me out of the show to watch him make out with various women, 'cause I kept thinking how bad he must be smelling. I didn't have that problem with Jonsey, but y'know - it's Tim DeKay.
It makes me laugh to think of Friedman working with Nick Stahl given the Terminator connection, esp. via this vid: [link]
