A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I forgot to watch Chuck! Tragedy. Thankfully my DVR remembers things even when I don't, and I now have something to look forward to tomorrow!!!
My very own weeping angel statue would probably freak me out too much, but I would love to turn something into a TARDIS. I really need to make some nerdier/cooler real-life friends; I don't think a single person I know would know what it was.
That's brilliant, DCJ! You gotta do that.
Aw, I loved the Proposal Sub-Mission with Morgan and Casey helping orchestrate the whole thing...although the writers seem to have ignored the fact that California and France are in different time zones. I was really hoping it would actually go off, but of course this show loves draaaaaaawing out everything about Chuck and Sarah's relationship as long as possible.
New Being Human? Do. not. want.
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Series 3 of the original BBC Being Human starts this Sunday evening.
Was waiting to hear what you guys thought of the US version of Being Human before trying it. So far, I won't bother. Let me know if it improves!
Excited for new series of Being Human UK. A friend who works at the BBC told me that (spoilery for the feel of the new series, but no plot points) he got the impression they were going more light-hearted and comic than last series. I hope they still have some of the dark stuff, 'cause that's what makes it worth watching.
we get a lovely Danny Kaye/Court Jester ref.
Could you spell it out for someone who never saw CJ?
Could you spell it out for someone who never saw CJ?
All that rhyming stuff about the wine labels was like a bit in the CJ regarding a poisoned flagon of wine.
From the imdb:
Hawkins: I've got it! I've got it! The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true! Right?
Griselda: Right. But there's been a change: they broke the chalice from the palace!
Hawkins: They *broke* the chalice from the palace?
Griselda: And replaced it with a flagon.
Hawkins: A flagon...?
Griselda: With the figure of a dragon.
Hawkins: Flagon with a dragon.
Griselda: Right.
Hawkins: But did you put the pellet with the poison in the vessel with the pestle?
Griselda: No! The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon! The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!
Hawkins: The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.
Griselda: Just remember that.
You know what the first episode of the us Being Human reminded me?
Of how bad the first few episodes of the original were. Seriously - they probably should have started differently.
And of course, Sam Witwer is very pretty. Very pretty - but can he do the thing when Aidan becomes dangerous? I still have that question.
Thanks, Frank!
Being Human: I watched the ep last night, but don't see the point in continuing when I've seen it before. Even the preview at the end made it seem like they were just rehashing the UK stories.
I don't think Witwer will have trouble with dangerous. It's the chummy jocularity with Josh that he's falling flat on so far. So many missed opportunities when talking him into the roomie situation, in front of the landlord, during the housecleaning montages, etc. He really only made that connection in the scene where he picked Josh up from the park, and if he hadn't managed a bit of levity when faced with Sam Huntington in a flower print dress I'd have started wondering if the actor was one of the undead as well.
