When is the DW Christmas Special airing? Err, we DO have a DW Christmas Special this year, right?
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
It's airing on Saturday night on BBCA!!!
And I'm going to miss it. The first concurrent Doctor Who airing, and I'll probably end up torrenting it anyway, because I'll be out of reach of BBCA.
Crap. Time Warner's remote DVR thingie isn't working right now. I hope I don't forget to set it later...
BBCA? Which means I can actually TiVo it instead of having to obtain it the other way! Wooo!
Wait. Doesn't BBCA butcher most BBC programs with random editing and deletions?
Any BBC show airing on an American network will have about 10 minutes cut out of it to make room for the ads. (UK terrestrial hourlong shows are ~51 minutes long, American hourlong shows are ~42.)
[Not that I'm a huge fan of the BBCA cutdown versions, but since I do sit right next to that team I feel I should defend them a little...]
So if I get off my keister and trade in my DVR today, I need to remember to program that in. Silly non-cable having parents.
According to the BBCA Web site, the episode is supposed to run 80 minutes. (The Web site doesn't say whether the episode itself is longer than normal.)
For the special episodes, BBCA seems to run the full version first and have the time go over. I think the re-broadcasts are the edited version.

Yeah, they did that for the first episode of Season Five ("The Eleventh Hour"), which runs 1:04:46, didn't they?
