I think it's a mileage varying thing - I've mostly heard really positive things about the storyline dealing with the Five at the end of Season 1. They're emphasizing that again with this season's arc, and Jonathan Young might as well be one of the regulars.

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

Agreed. I did not like the season finale for last season. I thought it was a complete joke in just about every way. But it seems those events have implications for what is going on this season.
It did seem as though they got stuck so they decided to put in a dance number.
an incredibly embarrassing, pointless dance number.
Which they flashed back to. People! Let's pretend it never happened!
When I initially heard about it last year I was all eager to see, but then the actual execution was cringetastic. So much for the promising stripping career Robin Dunne seemed to be working his way toward...
A dance number?! No way. Y'all are smoking the cheap weed.
Would that we were. Arrange your monitor so it can be watched from the furthest end of a hall, click, and run: [link]
you know, if that would help me forget, I would think about smoking a whole host of things.
I don't have Marilu Henner's memory, but that dancing image, particularly since (as ita said) they keep SHOWING THE FUCKING THING, is burned into my skull.
It was an extended set of scenes, replayed from different vantage points, and revisited on top of it all.
