A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I marathoned Misfits on YouTube last weekend. A lot of crude and foul, but some funny.

call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

Misfits. get on it.

I would love to! Torchwood and Farscape have me a bit busy at the moment, but I have heard such great things about Misfits that I really ought to watch it. I've certainly seen enough of it scroll by on my Tumblr dashboard. It's not available on Hulu or anything, though, as it's not a US show.... but I'll find a way!

Thanks for the recommendation!

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

You've all persuaded me that I should be watching Misfits. That, and the writer being interviewed on Radio 4. Surprised I didn't come across it before.

Surprised I didn't come across it before.

I totally called out my Brit friends on facebook for not being the ones to bring it to my attention. it was all Americans and Canadians raving about it.

Art Crawl!!!

I was reading the Futon Critic piece about the cancellation of SGU - so, ratings were higher than Caprica or Sanctuary, but only Sanctuary survives. Is that a decision based on production costs?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

probably. Poor Sanctuary has been run on the cheap and it shows.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Probably, though demographics and better critical reception may play a part. Also, the showrunners of Sanctuary haven't actively attempted to piss off the show's fanbase and gotten a deluge of angry letters sent to the network over their handling of gender, race, disability, and consent issues.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The first season of Sanctuary was decent, the premise was interesting and the characters except for the annoying daughter were intriguing. But by the end of the season I felt like they were taking it off in a different direction than where they started aiming at, and I lost interest. Did it get better, or at least remain worth watching?

I think it's a mileage varying thing - I've mostly heard really positive things about the storyline dealing with the Five at the end of Season 1. They're emphasizing that again with this season's arc, and Jonathan Young might as well be one of the regulars.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm not sure that the show really changed direction - although it's been to some odd places and they did get rid of the daughter.
