I kept hearing about that show on my flist, and I assumed it was some sort of teen soap, and then I discovered it was about teens with superpowers, and that is much more relevant to my interests.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.
It's totally a teen soap, just, you know, powered up. Skins+Heroes is a pretty good shorthand for it. And it's been full of the whoa and the HSQ this season.

That is basically the story of my life right now. But I too have heard lots of great things about Misfits, and so it is also on my ever-growing, insanely long list of shows to watch.
