"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Season 4 did get good again for the last few episodes. But pretty much all their meandering around in Tormented Space was forgettable.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Tormented Space

Great name. Quite a shame they never found anything interesting for it to mean.

The more Farscape turned into a big arc-y soap opera, the angrier I got. I should have stopped watching after S3.

But Farscape and Homicide are why I don't mind if shows get cancelled while I still enjoy them.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Oh, and...Luke, was it? Number 2 guy in the Chosen? I thought they gave his character some interesting layers with the pre- and post-Chosen, and struggles with faith...

On Topic: Yes, Farscape S1-3 = awesome, still haven't watched 4, you guys are not inspiring me to do it anytime soon. And I'm not sure if Consuela ever got her toaster, but it was largely due to her pimpage that I got hooked.

call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

This is a for EpicTangent, I don't think anyone else has a clue what we are blabbing about, but if you do, please fess up and join in!

It's been a while so it all runs together. Lessee, off the top of my head...one of my faves was Jack (I'm always a fan of the geeky boys), I loved Bray (most of the time), I had a real fondness for Pride, really liked May (once reformed), and really liked May & Pride together - and really appreciated the complexity of their relationship. I quite liked Ryan (after they stopped writing him as stupid) because I'm also fond of the big teddy bear types, and I enjoyed his & Salene's relationship. The Technos were an interesting group, and what a power-base in a post-apocalyptic world, but their leader...blanking on the name...written and/or acted so OOT, really bugged.

Jack was so my favorite. I thought he was just adorable. Although, whenever he was upset, particularly when he goes to see Dal's grave, I never had any idea what in the world he was saying. I feel like most of the actors tried to speak in neutral-ish English accents because the show was being broadcast in so many countries, but Jack was definitely Kiwi through and through.

Loved Bray, and Bray and Amber, Pride sort of bugged me but I did love May. And Salene and Ryan, definitely. I may have been on a Tribe RPG for a few years where I played Patsy, s despite not really thinking she's the most interesting character, I feel like I have crazy insight into her life. Hah.

The Techno leader was Ram, and he bugged me too.

It is just possible that I might, maybe perhaps still have a password that I use relatively regularly invoking the Jay character. Maybe.

Loved Jay so so much. Although I always thought it was hilarious that he never, ever got a new outfit. He was one of the first Technos to jump ship to the Mallrats, and he still pained that "T" on his forehead every day and ran around in the leather! Siva might have been first to change tribes... I can't remember. I could never tell Siva and Java apart when they were both Technos and it blew my mind that they weren't actually twins.

Oh, and...Luke, was it? Number 2 guy in the Chosen? I thought they gave his character some interesting layers with the pre- and post-Chosen, and struggles with faith...

Yes! Luke was really interesting. I also really loved Mouse and Patch.

I just found something so compelling underneath the bad acting and bad writing, with the kids trying so hard to rebuild a world avoiding the mistakes their parents made and found themselves time and time again just doomed.

Do the writers think they risk alienating our affections if they make her sympathetic?

I find Fauxlivia very sympathetic. I know that Anna Torv gets a lot of crap, but I've seen a very nuanced view of somebody who had a mission, came here to do a job, and ended up with a lot of sympathy for the Other Side. She seems pretty conflicted, and she could have easily killed Peter, but instead she let him live, even at the risk of being caught.

I love the choice that Other Broyles made; that bartender was right to call him a hero. Sigh.

Also: Penn Station as Springsteen Station made my day.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think Fauxlivia letting Peter live was a sign of softness, although I think she had softened towards him. I think he's key to Walternate's plans, and has to stay alive.

This. Although I think the pictures showed that she had some genuine affection for him, I don't think Fauxlivia was authorized to kill Peter under any circumstances.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I don't think Fauxlivia was authorized to kill Peter under any circumstances.

Seconded. I think she would have killed him to escape, if she needed to, except that Walternate needs him alive for some future action.

As for Alt-Olivia, Nutty said on DW:

I don't think we're meant to read her as a villain, and I don't know how it's possible not to read her as a villain.

And that is where I am. She participated in at least two cold-blooded killings, neither of which I would have defined as necessary, and while Anna Torv is doing a good job with what she's got, I don't think the writing is supporting Alt-Olivia as a good person, or even a conflicted person. In fact, she's the most villainous of all the alt-Fringe team, who just happens to have a soft spot for Peter.

So if the writers want me to care about her survival, they're not doing a very good job of it. I do suspect they'll have her turn, but I'm not liking the setup. It takes a lot to get me past murder.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Vagenda! I love Walter. And Astrid's reaction was priceless.

I gotta say, that really long Greek phrase is nowhere near as catchy as "Francie doesn't like coffee ice cream."

Bwah!
