Buffy: You tossed that vamp like he was a... little teeny vamp. Riley: You wanna go again? C'mon. I bet this place is just teeming with aerodynamic vampires.

'Help'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

they want to make it Very Apparent that they are all related

Then having Bonnie flirt with the new black kid is kinda creepy, no?

I am liking Jeremy a lot, but pretty much all of the rest of the show is pissing me off, and the race stuff is making me vocal.

Well, I think they are distantly related. Not enough to make it creepy that Bonnie was flirting with Luka, but enough that they have common ancestors from Salem, which every witch on the show has mentioned, basically. Either having Bennetts in their family way back or being from Salem.

I'm still not really defending the show, just trying to figure out their logic. Although now I sort of feel bad that the race stuff never really bothered me. Bonnie is an intelligent, confident character on a network where there really aren't too many people who are not white at all, and so... I don't know, I guess I was just focused on that. But I am also naive and I know that.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

No, "Mental As Anything"

Oh God, yeah, that episode was awful.

Alt!Broyles! EEeeee! Nooo!

Noooo!

I gotta say, that really long Greek phrase is nowhere near as catchy as "Francie doesn't like coffee ice cream."

Coding all black people as distantly related is pretty damned clumsy racefail in and of itself. It's othering too.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

it's a new way of describing a femme fatale - and her agenda.

if you will.
