Walter is one of the great characters, a loveable, absent minded-genius with the knowledge of the wrong that he did vs. a cold-blooded, ruthless manipulator who will sacrifice everything for what he believes is right. So similar and so different. They should be inventing awards for John Noble.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
And no Humphrey Bogart either.
The world-building would be more solid if the point of divergence had been associate with Peter's childhood, but then you wouldn't have had the cool visuals of the zeppelins, so I guess it works out. And most people are not nearly as anal about AUs as I am.
I don't think the butterfly effect comes into it. Neither universe split off from the other, they're just existing parallel universes (that people can cross between) out of infinite parallel universes (that can't be visited, so far). That's my understanding, anyway.
Maybe the population being particularly similar while history is different is unlikely, but not so much more unlikely than any other possibilities as to beggar belief. IMO.
Yeah, the assumption has to be that there are infinite possible variations, otherwise it doesn't work. And presumably the ones that are the most similar are easiest to get to.
I believe the last episode of Fringe I watched was the first-season one were Walter measured a magnetic field by its effect on a gold necklace. My virtual tomato-throwing got me into an argument with my BFF's then-boyfriend, who insisted that there must be conditions under which gold could be magnetized and loftily called me "close-minded". My eyeballs rolled out of my head and under the stove, whereupon they too were magnetized and I picked them up with a fridge magnet.
Primeval came back! I wonder if they'll get Abby and Connor
Ack. Sorry ita.
Whitefonted response in re: Primeval yes, Cabby is back in S4 primeval.
It is spoilery, unless you've seen it on an US TV promo, so please whitefont.
I enjoy the Primeval, although they're the only team dumber than both Torchwood and SGA.
(I didn't realise Sumi's link had the trailer...nevermind)
Question! That I may have asked before but I forget so I'm going to ask it again.
Should I watch the first season of Torchwood after I finish season 2 of Doctor Who? Is that where it fits in? They mention Torchwood just about every episode right now, so it makes sense to me. I just watched The Satan Pit, which was a FANTASTIC episode. But someone warned me about upcoming tragedy and heartbreak at the end of the season, so I'm bracing myself.
Consuela, yay Farscape!! I've only seen the first four episodes, I'm waiting for disc two to arrive now, but I'm REALLY liking it. I will probably share my thoughts as I go, like I do with the million other shows I'm watching!
