Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I enjoy the Primeval, although they're the only team dumber than both Torchwood and SGA.

(I didn't realise Sumi's link had the trailer...nevermind)

Question! That I may have asked before but I forget so I'm going to ask it again.

Should I watch the first season of Torchwood after I finish season 2 of Doctor Who? Is that where it fits in? They mention Torchwood just about every episode right now, so it makes sense to me. I just watched The Satan Pit, which was a FANTASTIC episode. But someone warned me about upcoming tragedy and heartbreak at the end of the season, so I'm bracing myself.

Consuela, yay Farscape!! I've only seen the first four episodes, I'm waiting for disc two to arrive now, but I'm REALLY liking it. I will probably share my thoughts as I go, like I do with the million other shows I'm watching!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Yes, watch Torchwood after season 2, and then they pretty much alternate. And don't feel bad if you don't like Torchwood.

Oh, feel bad if you don't love Jack and Ianto. It means you have no magic in your spleen. Don't listen to Dana.

I am pretty sure that I'll love Torchwood. And Jack and Ianto. I mean, I already love Jack, and I've heard nothing but lovely things about Ianto. But I do know some spoilery things on that front, mostly because of someone's tagline here. But that's alright!

What about it do you think I may not like?

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Just caught up the last month or so, everybody's pretty much covered everything I would have said, except that no one else copped to being hooked on the crack that was (is?) The Tribe. So, I'm here to admit to a (mostly former) ridiculous fondness for the show and stand in solidarity with...zuisa was it?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

What about it do you think I may not like?

That none of the characters are likable, the episodes aren't interesting, and it's needlessly "edgy"?

I quit four or five episodes in, but I've been considering giving it a second chance.

It's very different from Doctor Who. Much more over-the-top. I actually really loved it until the mini-series.

Whereas the massive acclaim for the miniseries was what got me interested in checking it out again.

There is no massive acclaim for the mini-series coming from this corner.
