Maybe I've always been here.

Early ,'Objects In Space'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

One of the best sci-fi shows of all time. With really quite appalling dialogue.

Sure, sometimes. But the characterizations were consistent in a way I have problems with on other shows (BSG, I'm looking at you) and the arc stayed true to the overall theme and mission. I appreciate that the show was one guy's vision and he was willing to put in the super effort to make it be what he wanted, stilted love scenes and all.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

With really quite appalling dialogue.

And sometimes some really great dialogue, bearing in mind that this is an epic on a grand scale:

"The avalanche has begun. It is too late for the pebbles to vote."

"I will confess that I look forward to the day when we have cleansed the Universe of the Centauri and carved their bones into little flutes for Narn children. It is a dream I have."

"The universe is driven by the complex interaction between three ingredients: matter, energy, and enlightened self-interest."

It's a Russian thing. When we're about to do something stupid, we like to catalog the full extent of our stupidity for future reference."

"I can only conclude that I'm paying off karma at a vastly accelerated rate."

"I am Grey. I stand between the candle and the star. We are Grey. We stand between the darkness and the light."

"I thought the purpose of filing these reports was to provide accurate intelligence." "Vir, intelligence has nothing to do with politics."

"Only one human captain has ever survived battle with Minbari fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be elsewhere."

"So, how does it feel to make history?"
"You do not make history. You can only hope to survive it."

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Here's that Craig Ferguson musical tribute to the Doctor that they couldn't air for some reason: [link]

Matt Smith makes a brief appearance in it. The Dalek watches but does not join in the dancing.

All is well that ends in pizza.

As is often the case with Daleks.

Josh Schwatrz tweeted that the charades answer on Chuck was supposed to be Lawrence of Arabia. Not really sure how ANYTHING he was doing fits in with that, but... there you have it!!

Additionally, I've been rather absent from the internet this week because I am now totally obsessed with both Doctor Who and Farscape. I blame you all!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I just noticed that there are new holiday episodes of Eureka and Warehouse 13 airing this coming Tuesday! I wanted to mention it in case anyone needs to set their DVR.

Thank you!!! I didn't know a new Eureka was coming.

Heh, I remember when I went through Farscape on DVD because of this thread... and posting here as I went through. Good times.

I've only watched the first disc of season one so far (and I will switch back to Doctor Who on Instant Watch as I wait for disc two to arrive)... my inner sci-fi geek is so happy right now. I can't think of anything I really dislike about either show, so far.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I wish the teenagers on No Ordinary Family weren't such a cliche because otherwise I like the show.
