Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It has begun.

Anatomy of a Dalek, as explained to American insomniacs

Craig Ferguson dared to mock the scourge of the universe, the Daleks, in his monologue on tonight's show. (And yes, we'd already noticed that the eyestalk is really phallic.) Tomorrow night: the Doctor himself, Matt Smith, will brave Ferguson's show.

Tegan was robbed. She's in my top 4 companions, along with Donna, Ace, and Sarah Jane.

Say you wanted to introoduce kids (ages 7 to 12) to Doctor Who. What non-classic episodes would folks recommend? "Rose"? "The Eleventh Hour"? Others?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Doctor Dances.

Wait, do you like the kids?

Heh. Well, they're related to me, including my two sons, so kinda. But my brain went to an inappropriate place before ita's post - I was thinking of when Captain Jack is naked and pulls a gun he was hiding on him.

The two-parter from the Eccleston season with the farting aliens--kids would love that one.

That'd be a good one.

I was also thinking of "The Christmas Invasion", but with the Doctor MIA for more than half the episode, I worry they might get bored.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

If they're into scary, the angel episodes are good. They might be less enamored of The Girl in the Fireplace than more "pretty dresses" oriented kids, but it does have a horse. They may be the prefect demographic for Scottish Ninja Monks and Werewolves.
