yeah, I have not been able to get into Bab5. I find it difficult to make it through the pilot episode even.
'Serenity'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I'll be the resident SG1 apologist
I'm standing next to ita.
I watched all 10 seasons, in order, twice, thanks to hulu.
While I understand the awesomeness of Farscape, I've just never been able to embrace it...though I've seen Peacekeeper Wars a couple of times and really enjoyed it.
BSG resides firmly on my list of wasted potential. It could have been so much greater.
Much as I love the Stargate franchise, in all its forms, I cannot get into 'Universe' because it feels like an even more disappointing version of BSG. Unrelenting grim is only interesting for a couple of episodes...then it just feels manipulative.

Yeah, I didn't hate it, but I couldn't get into it. Not even for Bruce Boxleitner.
You know what would be fun? A reverse Scarecrow and Mrs. King. They could call it Dorothy and Mr. King.
One problem with B5 is that the pilot sucks. I saw the pilot and said, "That's not for me," but a friend loved it so much that I tried again about halfway into the first season and became hooked. The thing to remember is that it's a novel in five seasons, and there is a remarkable character evolution over those five seasons. Admittedly, the fifth season has some real problems because of the loss of two actresses.
I'm still miffed that they didn't cast Kate Jackson along with Bruce Boxlietner on Chuck.

Compressed down into four seasons, and then padded with an extra season.
Well, and the final episode which is the perfect swan song for the first 4 seasons.

Me too! That would have been awesome! But, maybe she wasn't interested.
B5 was fantastic... when it aired. It is still notable for many reasons but I think its influence makes the things that were notable at the time a bit less exciting for someone seeing it now. I don't know if I'd recommend it to someone without a lot of context. (I'd also encourage them to skip straight to season 2.)
And I remain in the "Galactica was more hilarious than bleak, and I had no problem with the finale" corner. Alone. Although Nu Who does depress me on occasion, so I guess it balances out.
hee! we have no mercy. another show you should watch if you haven't? Veronica Mars.
I have DEFINITELY seen Veronica Mars. Love love love it.
Babylon 5 I can't even say I've ever heard of.
Too many options. But I think I'll watch at least the whole first series (and by first I mean the first series of the newer version) of Doctor Who.
BSG only got hilarious for me when it wrapped itself around with self-importance. But I felt like if I were to be taking things at face value I should slit my wrists and then punch myself in the face repeatedly.
And I watch Supernatural for the sad bits (well, along with the other bits, but I really like the sad bits).
