A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
BSG only got hilarious for me when it wrapped itself around with self-importance. But I felt like if I were to be taking things at face value I should slit my wrists and then punch myself in the face repeatedly.
And I watch Supernatural for the sad bits (well, along with the other bits, but I really like the sad bits).
And I remain in the "Galactica was more hilarious than bleak, and I had no problem with the finale" corner. Alone.
Not alone!
I mean, it was dark, but I've never thought "bleak" was quite the right word.
There are things from Season 5 of B5 that I would have hated to have missed, particularly "The Fall of Centauri Prime" and the evolution of Vir, Molari and G'Kar. It was badly marred by the fact that Tracy Scoggins can be out-acted by an ottoman.
I assume that the guy who played Byron was able to act, since if that were his personality in real life he'd have been killed long before he could have been cast in the show.
I keep dipping my toe into Supernatural, but I like the boys too much to want to watch them suffer so much without getting a little fun. I'm not in the school of "Pain! Then More Pain!" for characters. The every-now-and-then episode of (somewhat) lightheartedness isn't enough to offset the brothers being at odds with each other. Though the Winchester fandom twist was highly entertaining.
I'm never going to deny Supernatural is exquisite emo-torture-porn, but they do rise very often above (somewhat) lightheartedness. It can be funny in the same insane intense way that Farscape was. And they don't go many episodes without good laughs.
Deep Space Nine! Everyone should watch Deep Space Nine!
Also, selected Highlander (don't go near the final season, for instance). But it was pretty fun, if not as actually good as many of the series listed her so far.
There is a lot of good genre TV to sink your teeth into. I kinda wish I hadn't watched most of it at the time, so I could mainline shit fresh now.
Deep Space Nine! Everyone should watch Deep Space Nine!
Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Best Trek ever.
I watched the first half of the first series of Supernatural and got kind of bored. Should really give it another shot I guess.
The first season has a lot of damsel saving. Then they get their act together and start saving each other most of the time.
