A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Let's be careful with the blackfont of the linked information.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

But I can see a marriage ceremony being the one time a Time Lord would reveal his real name.

Yeah. Or his death.

Or who knows? Maybe the one time a Time Lord can reveal his real name is when he opens a fried chicken franchise.

hwæt

The Doctor would never open a fried chicken franchise. A fish & chip shop, sure.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Lots of planets have a South.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Allo, my name is [unpronounceable Gallifreyan gibberish], you killed my TARDIS. Prepare to die!

The "I'm sorry" bit makes me think it'll be something less happy than marriage....

I always have this weird feeling that she's affiliated with the Master somehow (or she was in her past). There are so many interesting ways her story could go. It would be fun/heartbreaking to watch the Doctor fall in love with her, but then meet her in her past where she doesn't love him at all. Whatever she is, I hope she's in lots more episodes because I really love Alex Kingston (way more than Amy Pond who I still don't get).

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

The episode where the Master was bargaining for a new regeneration cycle was "The Five Doctors." It was a special case, as he had merged with/taken over Nyssa's father and was arguably a new, composite being as a result.

At least three occurences that have happened in New Who could explain the Doctor getting more than the normal 12 regenerations even if that is a hard biological limitation of Time Lords in general: his absorption of all that psychic energy that he used to de-age himself in "Last of the Time Lords," briefly absorbing the power of the Time Vortex from Rose in "The Parting of the Ways," and intervention by BadWolf!Rose in that same episode .

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Again though no real need to explain. Lots of stuff in the new series is not entirely consistent with original series. They don't have to bound by it.

Harumph. I think they do.
