Giles! I accidentally killed Spike. That's okay, right?

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Isn't Moonlight actually based on the same Rick Springfield TV-movie that Forever Knight was? I think that'd give it the edge.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

The Event -- goes much faster when you FF over the "5 Years Ago We Had A Cute Relationship" scenes. There didn't seem to be any real plot point to them except to establish They Were A Cute Couple.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

First images from US Being Human.

Art Crawl!!!

I just hope that it's good. I mean, can Sam Witwer be as badass and scary as Aidan Turner was as Mitchell in the final couple of episodes of the last season?

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, I meant to post this earlier. I read on lj that Comcast has the new episode of Caprica up On Demand listed under the title of the episode that aired last week.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

First images from US Being Human.

Nope, not convinced. (Says the woman who has only seen S1 and 2 episodes of S2 of the original show, but LURVES it.)

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Nope, not convinced.

They're all a bit too... pretty. Otherwise I think they look the part (assuming it's going to be anything like the original). I'll give the US version a go.

Seems reasonable for me. There was never a reason given for it being so, thus no reason needed for it not being so. Canon is there is no canon. Past is as mutable as the future, and no character is exempt. No character's personal history is exempt. The rules can change, and change retroactively. Easiest show to retcon on ever...

"Yeah that used to be what happened, but now it is not and never was. Yeah, that used to be the rule, but now you and I are the only ones who remember it. Now the rule is different and always was."

Woe to the fucking wicked.

My personal retcon is that it's a cultural, rather than biological rule. So, now that there's no one left of the culture (save the Doctor), no need to follow the rule.
