I do hope it worked all in all though.

I also cared most about the B and C plots - which annoyingly puts me in agreement with ita...

I wanted to do the Zane/Jo plot line a bit more justice than it had been done so far. So it pleased me to see why they were attracted to each other again - for me anyway.

... and of course I love me some Jordan....always will....

I hope it worked all in all though. An Invisible oxygen cloud and space rockets doesn't give a guy a lot to shoot....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, you know I'm right about this shit. Ain't no shame in admitting that.

The idea of a tech-enabled helicopter parent is quite terrifying. No doubt Eureka would have some, but does it have to be one of our leads? No way is that sympathetic behaviour, even if she is adjusting from him being autistic.

If you have to do Jo/Zane again, maybe it can be done right this time. He doesn't have to be quite the dismissive ass he was last season.

Bummed that Jordan's show didn't work out, but really great to see the father/daughter pair back.

I should also say, that all I get to do is a director's edit.

The show is then passed off to the producers and to the network and they both have their way with it.

So the show that airs doesn't really resemble the show I shot in some places. How a second more here and there radically changes the mood of a character or scene.

Or how someone not liking something completely changes some poor actor's performance.

...it's a disclaimer.... but it's also true....

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Deleted scenes on the DVDs perhaps? One can hope, at least.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I like this Jo/Zane better than the previous version - my objection was always to how they got together (being a pushy asshole is not an attractive seduction method!) so seeing her be the pursuer works better for me.

(Of course, her attraction to this Zane is based on her memories of the old one, so in the end it's still the same story, but I'm willing to be persuaded.)

Henry - "the problem of the hotel room"? Has he been faking a headache since they got back, or sleeping at his office? DUDE YOU HAVE TO TELL YOUR WIFE YOU DON'T KNOW HER.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

CFerg, I think Carter is one of the great TV parents. I'm so glad it worked out that Zoe could feature in an episode, because the emotional relationship is so important to Carter that it just shoudln't have disappeared from the season entirely!

I'm afraid I'm in the camp that finds Allison's action out of character. I'll wave my hands and consider it in light of the emotional stress of the alternate timeline switching, but only because the show has earned a lot of my fondness. :-)

Loved the invisible cat... I have an all-too-visible cat who gets into a whole lot of trouble, and if there was a spray can of Match Mist around, you know she'd somehow trigger it.

Just what the world needs... stealth cats.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

"the problem of the hotel room"?

Yeah, I did a doubletake when Henry said that. How long have they been back now?

One thing I thought was (unintentionally?) hilarious was that tiny boxing-ring/VIP area that the General was sitting in during the launch. You only saw it for a few seconds so I wonder if there was more to it that got left on the cutting room floor.

I caught the VIP seating area, too!

YAY!! The viewing area for Mansfield was a larger bit that got cut but I LOVED it and wanted someone to see it. I was so pleased when I was allowed to do it with some comedy.

And, yeah, Joe and I had a lot of raised eyebrows about "the problem of the Hotel room...."..... what's he been doing? Isn't it the same as SHARING A HOUSE?

Totally agree. But we won a couple of other battles instead, so that logic point died well and with honor on the battlefield....

Compassionately intolerant

Who knew comedy was so contentious? Keep fighting the good fight! Somebody has to hold the line in a culture of fanboys/girls who notice everything.
