Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Smallville was kind of good and interesting this week.

Really? I watched by mistake, and granted I haven't watched it in a couple of seasons, but it seemed unreal and ludicrous.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Well, I like it best when it deals with the Overall Arc of Everything. Which is admittedly unreal and ludicrous.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

There was a Smallville?

I found Saturday's Torchwood sufficiently creepifying. I totally called Owen's missing breath being a plot point. ::looks smug::

Well, at least JM is getting work.

You can catch him as Ted Bundy later today!

not your mom's socks.

skipping bc houseguests are still here, but we watched some Torchwood back eps in preparation for the ep last night and both houseguest1 and I noticed at the same time in "Day in the Death" that Owen has a Watchmen magnet on his fridge and lots of Watchmen-like art in his apartment. I was pretty excited about that at the time. Now I'm just tired.

Art Crawl!!!

Catatonic Lana is better than most of the Lana we get so Brainiac is good for something. (And they had that creepy weeping Angel statue right next to her.)

Has anyone here seen Star Trek: Of Gods and Men? How was it? What a curious project...

Well, now I have. Because I really had time for that. Even your entirely non-mysterious links are a danger. There oughta be a law...

How was it. Well. There are a lot of ways to go with that. Hilariously awful at points. Kind of fun. The costumes are just... I have no words. Some of the writing, oh, my god, painful, which is funny, because the guy who wrote it was one of the franchise writers, right? Well, collaboration must've been key. Some of the camera angles/shots - look, if I know it's WTF?!!?, then it's bad. Really, really bad. But, overall, I'm sort of interested to see how it all plays out, and I have to watch Part II again, because I fell asleep halfway through it because it was so late when I saw the post, but I started watching anyway, and just... must see the train wreck finish. Overall? Bad. Very bad. But fun! And watch from the hall.

Although, Garrett Wang has this eye-liner, long haired, sort of hot and vaguely Johnny Depp in Pirates thing going on looks-wise, so that's fun.

Um, what is this Star Trek thing that's been mentioned? Some kind of fan project or a documentary or what?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

It's a Star Trek web movie series thing directed by one of the Voyager actors and written by two of the Deep Space Nine writers, starring a bunch of actors who used to be in Trek but now do conventions. Unauthorised. It's a bit rubbish, but, well, proves that fan films can be shot and released I suppose.

I've no idea how they got Alan Ruck to do it.
