That episode was pretty wonderful.
A) I'm going to have to stop being annoyed at the way this team whaps me over the head with things so I'll see them. THE SIGN IS FROM THE TARDIS AND IT FITS HERE RIGHT HERE AND IT IS SINGED!!!!!!! They're going to do this, I can just live with it.
B) Arguably, a sign can be ripped off a TARDIS minus the utter and complete destruction of said TARDIS.

Seriously - if this sticks (this being Who, I don't count a possibility it will be undone at some point - the fact that it related to the crack gives me a smidgen of hope), that's one of the worst fates of a quasi-companion I can remember.

My suspicion is that the erasure will be undone, but Rory will remain dead (since he was actually dead before being erased). Which of course would be the most painful outcome.
We sure Minear hasn't had a hand in this?
