It was Jack's idiotic "If I act all cool, the 456 will just piss itself and fly away" plan that prompted the aliens to stop Ianto's heart. And, you know, hundreds of other hearts.
True enough, though I'd argue this is no lamer than any usual Jack plan.

Also, RE: last weekend's UK ep: I got all verklempt at the end, but I could have done without the pop song. And am I the only one who got all nervous every time they returned to the museum, thinking that the Van Goghs would be erased from (or ignored by) history?

I experienced your whitefont too, but hoped it would not be the case because it would have put WAY too fine a point on what is coming next. But still, yeah, me too.
Jon B: I didn't think there'd be any new/missing paintings. They've been too much about the inevitability of events recently (paradoxically, despite the erasing of others). But I was glad to see they didn't mess with anything historical.
You know what'd be awesome? If after a Dr. Who episode airs in the US, if someone would post a link back to the beginning of the UK Who discussion for that episode....
Perhaps I'll start doing that. (Although others are welcome to do this as well.)

tommyrot, I was just thinking that I would love that. It's frustrating b/c I don't know how far back to go without getting spoiled, so I just don't go back, but it seems like most of the discussion happens after the UK airing.
Yeah, that would be great, tom. I partially spoil myself all the time because I have greyfont instead of whitefont, but I really badly did this week because I went back to the wrong episode. And didn`t figure it out until I read quite a bit. Oops.
In shallow news, I resent Rory having to symbolically cut off his ponytail. There is nothing wrong with a village doctor with a ponytail in a quiet life. Hmph. I got irritated with the Doctor `cause he couldn`t see the value in it. Disrespectful. Also I dislike hitting old people. I don`t like that there was no investigation into whether the hosts were redeemable or not.
