'Heart Of Gold'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Who UK:

OMG RORY NO!!!! I can only hope that this will somehow be undone.

Also, OMG TARDIS NO!!!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Pretty much what Dana said.

Compassionately intolerant

Who UK Okay, "I thought I saw someone else there for a moment." means to me that Rory isn't gone for good. It may be that the Tardis is blown up on the other side of the crack, but it DOES exist, if only in shards. Ergo, the streamy light that took Rory will simply preserve him in some way. Kind of like when Rose's father became a success somewhere else. Rory will be all right.

I so decree it.

Boy, the actress playing Ambrose did such a good job, I really wanted, the lizard women to tear her apart. I get what the Doctor said about her desperation, but ugh.

I loved both scientist characters, both human and lizard. I really hope we see them again.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

One thing that really bugs me about 11 is his hair. It looks greasy and dirty. I hate that!

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I can't stand that one side is blown forward. I can take the crazy length, I can even take the greasy, but not the "I was driving backwards with the window down" look.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm with Dana. Fiona, who is Marvin ?

I wasn't terribly engaged by these episodes. But I am very intrigued by the TARDIS shard and am hoping that Rory comes back somehow. The wedding ring still exists, so that's got to be something.

Anyone else think Ambrose looks like an older, Welsh Felicia Day?

Fiona - May 30, 2010 12:56:58 am PDT #13133 of 30001

Oh dear.

I was referring to Marvin, the Paranoid Android, who was voiced by Stephen Moore in the original Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio and tv series. Stephen Moore played the head Silurian honcho. I recognised his voice in the middle of his first sentence and missed the second half of that sentence because I was yelling "Marvin!". Lovely bit of casting .

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

UK Who: I gotta believe that Rory will return. I don't think they'd be that harsh.

Also, did everyone know that the BBC is releasing free downloadable Who computer games starting June 5? [link]
