Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I'm still watching. I just spent my time last night on RuPaul's Drag Race extras and Glee.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I am meh on 11 right now. I loved both 9 and 10 from the get go. I think that the problem for me is that 11 is too close to 10 in temperment. There was a clear difference in the personalities of 9 and 10, so it was easy to move on. 11 is right now looking like a pale imitation of 10.

Re: Fringe (my tivo didn't get it for some reason last week) I would love for the Walternate to be The Secretary (and it would make sense, given that memfault!Nimoy's character is "good" in the other universe). I liked that they did the closeup of the injection so that we knew that he wasn't a shapeshifter without them telling us. So, was the bridge thing a decoy, or did it work without them realizing it?

brillig

I think the bridge worked and they didn't get it shut off before Guy On The Bridge got to the far end.

He seemed to be walking toward Peter, not to the other side.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I didn't think I would like 10 because I loved 9 so much. I don't feel like 11 is imitating 10. 9 & 10 both felt like 4 to me and 11 feels more like 5 (who will always be Tristan in my head). I know Amy has a lot to do with it. I can feel the wonder that fills her mind. Also this is absolutely my favorite TARDIS ever. 4 & Sarah were my first Doctor and companion and I think 11 and & Amy are my favorites since. I don't know why the show won me over so fast. My reaction after the regeneration was "eww, no- it's Crispin Glover!" Perhaps it's that I'm seeing the Doctor through Amy's eyes and she thinks he's wonderful.

I watched The Eleventh Hour when I was at my mom's last weekend and thought both of the actors were quite charming.

And that the music was maddening.

The BBC one or the American one?

Oh! Sorry - the Doctor Who episode.

Is the American music different from the Brit broadcast? I'm digging the updated theme.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Not sure where this should go, but I recorded the Tennant/Stewart Hamlet on PBS's Great Performances tonight, so check local listings. I'll x-post in Press, I guess.
