The new logo says "St. John's Ambulance". And the wood grain is much more noticeable now, the whole front looks newer .

I watched the first hour of Riverworld ... which didn't suck, partly because they used Sir Richard Burton as a villain and he was played by Methos, and the hero was played by Tahmoh Penikett.

St John's Ambulance is a medical organization over here. It organizes emergency treatment, like a smaller-scale Red Cross. The logo was on the original TARDIS - every 1960s police call box would have had one - but it disappeared at some point during the series.
