I liked 11 well enough. I'm wondering whether his newness is part of what was happening last night. Clearly the first episode takes place hard on the heels of his transformation or whatever you call it.

SGU - I liked this episode. It reminded me a bit of Star Trek. Possibly because they actually visited a new planet and explored it. I don't really understand why they didn't give everyone some time on that planet. It would have been healthier for all of them.

Flash Forward: Why is Noh so important? I mean, is it just that what's his name saw himself in the future having killed/captured/tortured him and felt that he HAD to go through with it? Or is there something else going on?

Hmm, that's an interesting way to sum him up, but I think that may be why I liked him. Not that I like that in real life, just in my Doctors. I think it also may be in a big part because he was still finishing his transformation that he was acting quite that nutty.

I'm giving Eleven a few eps to fall into place--it took until "School Reunion" for me to really like Tennant.

So far, so good with Eleven, although he mumbled so much of the computer stuff that I had no clue what was going on in that gorgeous guy's bedroom. I'm really liking Amy; lots of chutzpah on her part, and I loved the big reveal of her wedding gown at the end!

Oh, and Ace is one of my All-Time Favorite Companions, so I really hope that Amy can match her. Sophie Aldred was terrific as the explosives-happy Ace--to get a good sense of how she and Sylvester McCoy bounced off of each other, I really recommend "The Remembrance of the Daleks" from the 25th season, which also has tons of fun callbacks to the very first episode with Willam Hartnell, since it takes place in the same location and only a few weeks after the pilot ep from 1963. (It even has a great meta moment, when Ace is turning on a tv and then gets fed up since it takes forever to warm up, and turns it off just as the BBC announcer says, "Next up, new adventures with Doc..." Heh.)

Yes, some of his behavior was bugging me until I remembered that 10 slept through the aftermath of his regeneration so I figure this is what it looks like when you try to function while you're still "cooking".
