A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
New Who (UK): I totally get what you are saying Julie, about
11's different reaction to the Daleks. He didn't seem as terrified...a little too calm...but I think this Who is going to be less volatile in general. This, I don't mind, because I think it will leave room for more interesting supporting characters...not the least of which will be Pond, as she matures. I loved Tennant more than was seemly, but there was never much room on the screen for anyone else but Donna, who claimed her space with gusto.
I'm interested to see how this new
attitude effects the storylines.
I LOVED the
Daleks in total. Their cute little khaki outfits, complete with boy scout canteens they can't even use.
And then, the
bigger, badder, more awesome iteration in skittle colors.
Everything in the Whoverse has gotten a fresh
coat of paint...everything is brighter and sharper and cleaner of line.
In as much as I loved the
continuity and grittiness of 9 & 10's tenures,
I'm liking the
reanimation of 11's launch.
Honestly, it seems more like the children's show that everyone keeps saying it is...which I NEVER thought about Chris and Dave's excellent adventures.
Watching the Ultimate Guide now. Major Spoiler...
Has the return of certain creatures been in the US promos? I'm not sure which ones I've seen on-line (which might not be USian) and which I've seen on TV.
I'd answer your question if I knew what you meant by certain creatures, Frank. Weeping angels?
Didn't Ultimate Guide air on BBCA anyway?
Yes, I watched Ultimate Guide on BBCA. I'm erring on the side of caution with the spoilerfont.
Weeping Angels
and
Daleks
will definitely be back.
Didn't Ultimate Guide
Does that count as a US promo? I wasn't sure. If so, yes, it was the Weeping Angels I was thinking of (well, and the Daleks, but those are kind of a given).
If it airs on US TV, it counts.
I hope if people didn't watch Ultimate Guide on account of wanting to be surprised they know not to come into this thread.
It's generally practiced--if you don't want to be spoiled for stuff, don't read it here.
It's hard for me to keep a balance because I want to see what buffistas are saying but I also want to be surprised. In this case it doesn't matter since the BBC already spoiled me.
something like a cosmic colonoscopy.
Space/time colonoscopy was me, but I stole it from a review.
Somebody on another thread is calling them
iDaleks,
which about sums it up.
That was a bit
disappointing, though Bill Patterson and Ian MacNiece were great. I get the feeling that there hasn't really been time for Matt Smith to stretch into the role since the first episode, which is a shame
