A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Someone up thread called the scene something like a cosmic colonoscopy.
Heh. Good episode. I like Amy. It will be interesting having a companion that's somewhat less than stable. I like the actress a lot (she reminds me a little of Emily Watson) - it's looks like she may end up being very funny, but in a completely different way from Catherine Tate.
Matt Smith has pretty much won me over. I'm looking forward to this season now.
Also, I love the Steampunk Tardis (as someone mentioned upthread as well, I think).
Love the new TARDIS-steampunk indeed!
Not sold on the new Doctor. He lacks the energy and "presence" of Eccleston and Tennant. He almost seemed to be sleepwalking compared to them.

Since I have not yet seen the new doctor in action (except for a minute at the end when the old Doctor died) can she match Ace for unstable?
New Who (UK):
...Yeah, I wasn't crazy about this one; I'm kind of over Daleks, except for when people make them out of cake or something. But I did get a kick out of "CAN I BE OF ASSISTANCE" and "YOU DO NOT REQUIRE TEA!"
I thought I wasn't going to like 11 but after episode #1 I am sold. Steampunk TARDIS rules!
Watching the Ultimate Guide now. Major Spoiler... I just saw
Alex Kingston.
Yay!
She's been in the promos that aired in the US, so not a spoiler.
I thought I heard her voice before but I wasn't sure. New haircut, she said. heh.

That I can't tell you. I'm pretty sure I never saw Ace. Which Doctor was she with? I've seen random bits of Three, Four and Five (and Eight, for what that was worth; also One and Two during The Five Doctors). The only bit of Six I saw was when Five went, and I never saw Seven.
New Who (UK): I totally get what you are saying Julie, about
11's different reaction to the Daleks. He didn't seem as terrified...a little too calm...but I think this Who is going to be less volatile in general. This, I don't mind, because I think it will leave room for more interesting supporting characters...not the least of which will be Pond, as she matures. I loved Tennant more than was seemly, but there was never much room on the screen for anyone else but Donna, who claimed her space with gusto.
I'm interested to see how this new
attitude effects the storylines.
I LOVED the
Daleks in total. Their cute little khaki outfits, complete with boy scout canteens they can't even use.
And then, the
bigger, badder, more awesome iteration in skittle colors.
Everything in the Whoverse has gotten a fresh
coat of paint...everything is brighter and sharper and cleaner of line.
In as much as I loved the
continuity and grittiness of 9 & 10's tenures,
I'm liking the
reanimation of 11's launch.
Honestly, it seems more like the children's show that everyone keeps saying it is...which I NEVER thought about Chris and Dave's excellent adventures.
Watching the Ultimate Guide now. Major Spoiler...
Has the return of certain creatures been in the US promos? I'm not sure which ones I've seen on-line (which might not be USian) and which I've seen on TV.
