In the original timeline, he was trying to find a good moment to give Peter the letter.
I liked that each time iteration was slightly different. Not enough to make a difference, but it was nice that they didn't do the EXACT same thing every time. Some things were the same, but not everything.
OMG, the final scene where he opened the envelope!!!!!!!!

Her behavior in this episode was completely normal and not shady in any way, as if the last minute of last week didn't happen. Which gives me hope that she really is just playing Simon.
Please let this be the case.
Also? The actress playing Marcie did a good job with the whole "I was always one step behind everyone and no one bothered asking MEEEEE about MY flash," hurt attitude.
Considering they managed to just sort of shoehorn that in, I was able to buy it.

This time there wasn't the phone call from Peter immediately after he finished, saying Peter was coming over, so Walter wasn't pulled out whatever he was thinking.
