Hah, no, I mean what I wrote about Jack walking around with his cock out.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Just the fact that they show them occasionally kissing is enough better than most shows that I'm pretty happy with it. I feel more starved for those sort of displays of affection than for actual love scenes.
Which is why I liked the dancing scene. For the intimacy. There's also the comments that make clear that Jack and Ianto have a sex life together. Which you don't find so much of on TV.
There are plenty of places to find male-male sex scenes. As long as you don't limit yourself to what' aired on TV.
BSG Panel at Sciffy upfronts - not spoilery for season 4.
OK, all questions of how much gay we show aside, Rhys is now my fucking hero. And I loved Jack's "Evil Dead" comment to him (and the bit about him having a good swing). I'm not sure what to think about the whole Retcon thing - it does seem a gross violation. However, given how they played Owen's alien roofie's (sp?) for laughs...
I adore Rhys. There is very little in my television that I adore as much as Rhys, unless it is spelled "Ianto".
I would like Ianto to display a little bit of spine when it comes to Jack. Just because he knows he's being used doesn't make it feel any more palatable. And Jack's "Ianto" comment for things he'd be doing while Gwen was on honeymoon was colder than cold. I'm still not getting what they are pushing with the Jack/Gwen stuff - it's like I missed a season. The only thing I can think is if Jack had gone in the morgue he'd be in stasis, so even if he did revive they wouldn't know, and he's grateful for her not giving up on his coming back to an extreme degree.

This. So very much this.

Ooh, would this be a good time to mention that I wrote an Ianto-POV lyric about this? Hee. Yes, I am a geek. I have rhyming skills and I'm not afraid to use them.

I think I pinged on this a little bit better during this ep, with the little photographic journey through his immortality with Jack. Evidently he was married at one point, and I think maybe he was feeling more nostalgia for the institution of marriage than the actual Gwen herself thing. Like him waxing poetic about offices. It's all the trappings of a normal life that are now never going to be an option for Jack, so much moreso than any of the others.
All of your relationships are transient, if you're immortal. And like how he had to skip out on the fairies in the garden lady, it's hard for him to establish any new relationship because he knows they'll grow old without him. And he'll go on.
Which brings me to the complaint I never got to earlier. Why would Jack, who has so much trouble with an extended lifespan himself, bring back Owen, knowing full well there was a good chance he'd come back wrong?
Who's that last one?
It's nice to see the trailer in proper quality! I saw the bootleg of that a few weeks ago.
I think Jack loves each one of his Torchwood team, and had it been Tosh, Gwen or Ianto on the slab, he'd have tried the same thing. That Owen had so newly reached an epiphany about his personality problems and was making a change just made his sudden death much more horrible.
