A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I think it's more than hypocritical that Sarah can't be with Chuck if he's a killer, but can be with Shaw who's a killer, but apparently just not a good spy. But that whole will-they-won't-they thing is artificially extended and I never bought her character from the start.
Just watching the Chivalry episode of Highlander. I think it's the highwater mark for Methos/Duncan. Wingfield is such a purring tease.

I never found it hypocritical, necessarily, just handled poorly by the writers. She fell for what made Chuck so uniquely Chuck. She fell not just for him, but for what he represented, in terms of the normal (ish) life she never had because of her unorthodox upbringing and then her career. In her mind, Chuck taking that step and becoming a killer eradicates the last bit of what made him special and different from everything else in her life.
The paradox, of course, is that Chuck not being a full-fledged spy kept him from being her full equal, in both their eyes. It would always be an unbalanced relationship.
Not that the writer/lizard brain has been playing with different scenarios or anything...
For me it's seeing that she seems to hate the killer in herself that makes me wonder how she can date a killer. But just one killer. Well, two, assuming Bryce Larkin could kill too. Just not Chuckles. Your description of what she sees in Chuck (she only likes him if he can't kill in self defense, for instance) is terribly shallowly handled by the writers.
It shows a tremendous lack of self-awareness of Sarah's part, which I think is a disservice to both the character and the viewer.
I've never gotten her character. I think she's a cardboard cutout attempt at an attractive kickass female. Completely unconvincing in writing and physical bearing. Fail to get the hype, and it's a big reason Chuck is only casual watching for me. Early Monday primetime is slow for me and I have no life.
Zach Levi is charismatic and fun, and now that Chuck is less lame I find the show more entertaining, but I do roll my eyes that they're doing backflips to keep his hand clean, even in the face of self defense. Even what Casey did, shooting that guy at the end, would be totally legal. He was defending Chuck's life.
Hey, does anyone have a link to the promo for Monday's show? I keep NOT getting it tivoed.
Thanks!
Also - Melinda Clarke was fun on Vampire Diaries. And I'm still loving how quickly they answer questions.
I keep hoping that Clarke will become a regular on "Tru Blood."
I think she would be fabulous as any number of characters.
supposedly, Melinda's been cast in the La Femme Nikita remake as Madeline. who knows if it will ever see the light of day though.
ok. I'll take that as a 2nd choice.
I don't think she's Madeline, but someone doing the same job Madeline did. I'm not sure why they're having a Michael and a Birkhoff, but then an Amanda instead of Madeline.
