'Bushwhacked'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Wasn't there an ep when the use of a gun was a serious issue, as in, could the doctor kill someone in cold blood?

hwæt

Did you know that there are classic episodes of Doctor Who on iTunes? I just watched "The Deadly Assassin", where Four uses a gun, and gets framed for assassinating the Lord President of Gallifrey.

“Not dead yet!”

Not only did I go there, I was a little jarred when they *didn't* say "We band of buggered."

::SNORT::

Yeah, me too.

Wasn't that at issue in Tennant's finale? That he could have shot The Master with Wilf's gun? Or am I thinking of the first time The Master died, when his wife shot him?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Same with me, Steph, because I started reciting along, wrongly.

Ha! Me too!

Trust my rage

You know, I will be watching when Eleven starts and I will try to stick with it. But, and I feel so shallow saying this, I'm not sure Matt Smith can ever be sexy the way CE and DT were/are. I';; be happy to be convinced otherwise, but he just looks so *goofy* to me.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't need my Doctor to be sexy, although it is nice. That aspect is recent for me.

I don't think that Nine was intended to be sexy, it was a side effect of his awesomeness. I think that it may have been a factor in casting Ten, though. Clearly not an issue in casting Eleven. Because he looks eleven.

Trust my rage

I never wanted sexy in any of the old doctors; I guess I got spoiled by the new ones. I suppose I'm just in the "I hate this new Doctor" phase. I'm trying to get over it.

I still kinda hate Ten, except I love him. But he's no Nine. And that resentment is taking some getting past, even now. But I don't hold it against Matt Smith. Most of what I've read him say about the character sounds fun.
