I dunno, but I still love how mere clothing seems to contain the shiny radiance of regeneration, now with added TARDIS combustability. I was also really hoping for some comment about how the suit was far too small for 11.
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
So, did the Master slip off during the commercial break or did I miss something?
Jury's definitely still out on Matt Smith (especially after seeing the season sneak peak which left me a bit...underwhelmed).
I got the feeling that the Master and the President were locked in a deathgrip when the link was broken. I could be mistaken.
We somehow missed the sneak peek! Did it air during Demons? I have to say we were only paying very slight attention to that show.
End of Time: Like a lot of the big special episodes, this one left me a little cold, but the scene where Ten realizes that it's Wilf who knocks four times pretty much redeemed it for me. I loved that.
What exactly happened to the Master? Did he and the President just sort of cancel each other out?
Did anyone else catch that it was Midshipman Frame, from "Voyage of the Damned," that the Doctor hooked Jack up with? Awesome. Indeed, I dug on the entire Star Wars Cantina filled with Doctor Who-aliens past. Also, terribly loved the Jessica Hynes cameo. It felt more emotional than the Rose cameo, really. Oh, and Mickey and Martha for the win. Don't even care if it was mostly out of nowhere.
Oh, yes. It was flawed, but I ultimately found the flaws forgivable. Glad we only have to wait a few months for the new season.
Once again, I agree with Victor. I kind of loved the self indulgent bits.
Victor I totally missed that that was Frame.
Yes, Victor, I recognized him immediately!
Yes, Victor, I did catch that terrific cameo! As soon as the note said "His name is Alonso," I thought, "No, that can't be Midshipman Frame!" And it was! I also loved the Jessica Hynes cameo--I was just watching my new dvds of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, and had her in mind today.
I liked most of the ep, but felt it was definitely weak in many spots. It's quality level is on par with the end of Season 3, IMO, and not nearly as good as S1 or 4.
Oh yes, the thing with Alonso! That was fab. It was basically just RTD going over his old stuff and deciding who to set Jack up with, but it was fun.
So did the President say that the two who dissented would *become* the Weeping Angels, or just cover their faces *like* them? We thought it was the former, and that this was complete genius. We might have been wrong.
Anyone else get the feeling the Doctor's regeneration seemed more like a Highlander quickening this time out?
Little bit. And frankly, not impressed by the little I saw of the new doctor (although I did enjoy the 'still not ginger' bit)
