Hauser: You really think you can solve the problem? Come into Wolfram & Hart and make everything right? Turn night into glorious day? You pathetic little fairy. Angel: I'm not little.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Once again, I agree with Victor. I kind of loved the self indulgent bits.

Victor I totally missed that that was Frame.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Yes, Victor, I recognized him immediately!

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yes, Victor, I did catch that terrific cameo! As soon as the note said "His name is Alonso," I thought, "No, that can't be Midshipman Frame!" And it was! I also loved the Jessica Hynes cameo--I was just watching my new dvds of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, and had her in mind today.

I liked most of the ep, but felt it was definitely weak in many spots. It's quality level is on par with the end of Season 3, IMO, and not nearly as good as S1 or 4.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Oh yes, the thing with Alonso! That was fab. It was basically just RTD going over his old stuff and deciding who to set Jack up with, but it was fun.

So did the President say that the two who dissented would *become* the Weeping Angels, or just cover their faces *like* them? We thought it was the former, and that this was complete genius. We might have been wrong.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Anyone else get the feeling the Doctor's regeneration seemed more like a Highlander quickening this time out?

Little bit. And frankly, not impressed by the little I saw of the new doctor (although I did enjoy the 'still not ginger' bit)

Oh, may have been in the white font, but I loved that he called Donna his best friend, and so offhandedly.

From my online roving:

A positive review which I liked because I wondered if I was the only one thinking of Dead Romance. When I wasn't thinking of A Hole in the Fucking World, anyway. It also includes a long list of all the references to past episodes.

This notes that the finale highlights both Davies' strengths and weaknesses.

And this is a pithier summary of the Davies era.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Why are we still white-fonting?

Seska, what I heard about the Weeping Angels was that they were to hold a pose *like* them, not become them.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

OK, OK, I will give it another go. It was mostly Maysa's post which convinced me it might not have been totally out of character.

Did someone post a link here to a sneakpeak of the 5th season, or was it in another place? I can't remember now, nor find it.

Nevermind, here it is: [link]

Also, Geronimo? That's the catch phrase for the next season? Why, sunshine, why?
