A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
His best shot was the still they projected of him. Very rrowr.
mmhmm. Very. I kept rewinding to that point.
Did anyone else see the belly pouch and think "Jafaa!"?
I didn't have this thought but it brings up something that has confused me. Surely, because I just missed a critical moment my mad consumption of SG-1.
I never understood "snakes in the head" when the symbiont lived in the belly. Was it different for Jaffa vs. Tok'ra, etc.?
The Stargate wiki doesn't seem to have the answer.
They were in the head for the Go'a'uld, assuming I've put in the correct number of apostrophes.
The Go'a'uld symbiote lived entwined in the cerebral system of its true hosts (including the To'kra), and just in the belly of the Jaffa pack mule.
Aha. Thanks for putting that to rest.
This was one of my first fannish TV involvements.
Not counting classic Star Trek, mine too.
Ahh, Methos. Like fine wine.
Yeah, me too. Except for devotion to Barnabas Collins when I was too young to be a proper fan, and an entrenchment in the Anne Rice books as a teen, Highlander marked the first 'must see tv' for me.
eta: I should add that I recognize it as serious fandom for me given the number of heartbreaks I was willing to work through in order to stay connected to it. Tessa's death, Richie (period), Darius' death (RIP Werner Stocker) and various explanations for things that were too dopey, even for this universe.
I suppose that fandom = pain is no secret around here.
I never liked Tessa, so her death mostly meant my introduction to a cheesy song. I never like Richie much, but was mostly pleasantly surprised he was an Immortal even if I get how they're spotted even less well than Potential Slayers. In fact, I pretty much stopped watching when Duncan killed him. I didn't like how they handled Duncan then.
I think Highlander was the first TV where I sought out other people's discussions of it. I'd only done that for comics and books before that.
Anyone watched the British series Invasion:Earth? I saw it recommended, but it's moving very slowly so far.
I think we tried, but found it too slow.
Do you remember how far you got? I just got to the end of episode 1 and I'm flipping genres to Wire In The Blood to wake myself up again.
Not much farther than that. 1 and a half episodes?
