I don't give half a hump if you're innocent or not. So where does that put you?

Book ,'Objects In Space'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I watched it. I think they thought they were being very progressive, while managing to be very, very clunky and stupid. I was not impressed.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

All three L&Os have done shows about honor killings of women by their families.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I liked that they tried to show his change in attitude, how he got progressive. I was worried that I might get hit by the falling anvils, though. And the whole honor killing thing was just random and stupid. but, I suppose that they did it to contrast with the honor of killing the "gentleman"

The problem is, he seems to have progressed from one kind of clueless to another.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Oh yeah. I meant to rant about how stupid and heavy-handed and offensive the episode was and how the show has lost me as a viewer and not even the eye-candy factor (Nicolaj continues to be irritatingly pretty) would keep me on at this point and so forth, and decided I didn't care enough to rant.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

::sits with Vonnie::

Hopefully The Baker will be available soon and I can see him and Damian Lewis on the screen at the same time.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

All three L&Os have done shows about honor killings of women by their families.

My first thought when they said that the DA had made a deal with the rapist and released him was "Wait! McCoy would never do that."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And L&O did it better!

They so didn't need to even go there. Leave the freaking culture alone. I found it unconvincing, uncompelling, and implausible.

And what if this woman is the one? What then? Does he just keep solving mysteries, except now he can die? If she's not the one does he have to work out how to dump her and keep looking?

How assy a move is the duel thing when you're immortal? Pretty huge.

Why in god's name would the father need to boast about having killed his daughter? If they were perfectly happy to hide having killed the other one, anyway? It was just random and rude, and I'm disappointed--I was glad to hear the Indian accents, but then the Indianness was not only the point but the villain, so no Benetton points for them.

So very poorly done.

Don't forget that if you're raped in the 1800s, the worst thing about it is that you've just lost the virginity you were saving for the hero!

Oh, that reminds me, was the immortality supposed to be a gift or a curse?
