I had the first ep of V on my dvr, but just kept looking at it in the queue and finally decided to delete it without watching. I just couldn't get up the interest to sit through it. Also, I don't need another show to get involved in--I have too many as it is.
'Time Bomb'
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
(I blame the soap opera Santa Barbara from the late 80s.)
oh, how I loved Santa Barbara! Cruz Castillo was THE MAN. He was so much the man, he didn't even need a whole first name.
Haha. I'm calling it Ralph de Bricassart syndrome.
BWAH! I remember watching the Thunderbirds with my dad. I was only 10, so probably a little too young to be watching it, but that's why my dad was cool.
The new Prisoner is pretty freaking awesome. Just FYI.
I am totally looking forward to it. I did notice the lack of number tags during the previews. Those need to come back. And I LURVE Ian McKellan, but I like the way that Number Two kept changing every ep or so, the implication that when Number Two failed in their efforts to find out why Number Six resigned, they were replaced. But, I have faith in Sir Ian.

I feel you Kathy. If I didn't have such a deep and abiding love for the original, I probably wouldn't have been interested enough to come back.
Side note: reporter guy noted that all of the visitors were "what we would consider attractive" I wonder if the visitors in different cultures emphasized different attributes.
I was kind of disappointed that Alan Tudyk was a bad guy. He would have made a perfect Willie (or Willie type)
Is the new Prisoner a mini-series? Seems that way based on the scheduling, but I might have thought the same for V...
There are only six episodes.

I think we've talked about this before but Cruz and Eden were my favorite couple ever. I quit watching once they broke up.
Thanks, Tom.

I am not a number of episodes, I am a free - oh wait, yes, there are six.
But IIRC, it's a miniseries the same way BSG was (more of a backdoor pilot).
They aired a clip of Sir Ian playing mindgames with the character played by Ruth Wilson (whom I'm v. happy to see in the series since I loved her in Jane Eyre) in a commercial break during the Mad Men finale, and it was *fantastic*. I've never watched the original series, but I'm very much looking forward to checking out this incarnation.
There's a 9-minute trailer for The Prisoner available for free on iTunes.
And I LURVE Ian McKellan, but
I've only seen the first ep so far (we were sent the first 2, but the sound was so bad on the pilot we decided to wait for the broadcast), but the setup is very different from the original series. So a lot of the best things about the original won't be in this version, but I really think that's for the best.
(However, there a few AMAZINGLY AMAZING nods to the original in the pilot that made me sit up and clap. This is a show with a LOT of thinking behind it.)
