A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I loved the original, cheese and all. Marc Singer's tight pants and steely gaze...arguably his only expression, but hey, those pants made up for a LOT. Michael Ironside's gritty defiance. (It's weird to me that his character is not featured on the mini series wikipedia page) Robert Englund's dopey sweetness.
And the tension. The amazing tension between characters who knew what was going on and those who did not...or had other agendas. The way loyalties were divided and revealed.
I almost don't want to rewatch for fear of tainting my fond memories and I'm feeling pretty avoidy towards the new show, which comes off in the promos as way too sterile.
Besides. No Singer thighs in stone-washed denim = ho. hum.
eta: Granted, it is a blurry fan photo, but Marc still looks exactly the same to me in this 2007 shot at a con. At 59? hubba.
I watched the miniseries when it first aired. It was Great. But I was 10, so "great" meant "even better than Buck Rogers." I watched the sequel and even the TV series. Which even I could tell was pretty lame. And yeah, that's when I imprinted on Michael Ironside.
I watched the minis again when they were on cable, in, I dunno, the late 90s? They were entertainingly nonsensical and we had a good time MiSTing them.
I'll probably check it out tonight, but only because Vampire Diaries wasn't terrible enough to suit me.
Robert Englund's dopey sweetness.
I forgot how much I loved him! He was supposed to go to France! It made the whole Freddy thing very upsetting.
Did anyone else know that Alan Tudyk is in V? Did I miss that somehow?
I didn't! But I wasn't really paying attention.
The Boy said, "Alpha! Watch out; he's crazy!"
And oh, my god, Morena Baccarin is stunning.
What do the visitors call themselves when they're not visiting?
I didn't! But I wasn't really paying attention.
I did, but I can't remember if I knew before I saw it at Comic-con or not...
How long is tonight's episode? If it's two hours, I might switch to the NOVA thing on human evolution.
