Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

It looks like one giant retcon. Everything! It was all part of the Plan! Seriously!

Really? I think it looks like the opposite of that. Given that at the start Stockwell is saying "The plan is that we wiped them out a week ago. But noooooooooo."

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Kirk is sneakier than Picard. He fights dirty 'cause it's fun.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I guess I meant that they're trying to make us buy that there was a Plan in the first place. The trailer makes it look like basically a recap of the series with added scenes of Cavill bitching about the Plan.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

proper alignment of Batman

Chaotic good.

Doesn't that depend on your definition of lawful vs. chaotic? Because Batman can be pretty damn rigid about some things.

Waits for the inevitable "rigid" jokes...

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope it's also got the Cylons constantly fretting that the humans have a secret master plan.

Silly Cylons. Only the women have a secret master plan. Don't you read men's SF blogs?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Only the women have a secret master plan.

Step 1: Ruin science fiction
Step 2: ...
Step 3: Profit!

Scalzi stole Jess's line!

then pointing and laughing will suffice. So, yes: let’s all point and laugh at these funny little terrified stupid men, and then ignore them.

Yeah, he's pretty lawful, but his methods aren't. Lawful good would make him a policeman.

Lawful good would make him a policeman.

Not in Gotham.

(Jim Gordon notwithstanding; I think we all know he's an anomaly.)

(And Renee Montoya isn't on the force anymore.)
