The little things starting to come together--I'm not sure why Demetri isn't above and beyond the other characters trying to make a different future. Olivia too--she seemed a bit resigned when she met her man. But maybe it's too soon for all of that. Are we a week in yet? But I do see why Mark (Mike? Mr Benford) is placing so much on the accurate depiction of his, and he might not want to fuck with other people's visions as much.

Amanda Tapping & Co. managed to entertain me more in the first 5 minutes of last night's Sanctuary premiere than in all two hours of SGUgh.

At least this week they answered how LDP was going to stay involved in the series.

There HAS to be free will involved as the characters go forward -- if you have SIX MONTHS to prepare for the moment when you're going to have the flash forward moment, would you PLAN to be READING the SPORTS PAGE on the JOHN?

Provided that I wasn't in some position that I could actually Do Something about the worldwide catastrophes, I'd be gathering a list of winning lottery numbers for the past 6 months and memorizing them when the FF moment hits.

It would be worth a try, dammit.

I want to see people trying to circumvent their fate and fate laughing at them. Or something. Not six months of people accepting the inevitable.

I liked the different variations of people accepting or not accepting. Like the customs dude hadn't even applied for the job until he had his flash forward and that's what had compelled him to submit the application-- this vision that he'd seen of himself. Which of course then makes me wonder if Demetri's going to wind up busting him for the bong-- because if he can affect that guy's future-- keep him from becoming a customs officer, then maybe he can affect his own future.

This show is a mind fuck in the best of ways.

Also, if John Cho dies from getting shot in the chest? All he has to do is wear a bulletproof vest on that day.

If he did manage to avoid getting murdered that day, would he step outside the next day and get hit by a bus? I'm not sure yet where the show is going on this.

It's disbelief-suspension-stretching enough that Demitri could get all the strings pulled that quickly to get the grave exhumed, but no mention was made of the super-secret FBI 5-minute DNA test.

I was bothered that he said he wanted to check her remains against the DNA records on file. Because, if you're going to the trouble of having your daughter's remains exhumed, based on the premise that she's alive, maybe you should consider that the records on file were wrong and that was how she was misidentified in the first place. IJS.

Ooh, nice catch on the DNA records on file--I was thinking paternity/maternity test vs. the dna in the coffin...but I was also thinking "Maybe she got her leg blown off and that's what they found and shipped back??"

The timeline is also throwing me. Because the sexy sex and the stuff seems to have taken like, a day, and the flying to Germany and badgering seem to have taken much longer...and people still have wounds on their faces from the blackout crashing...and you're still having funerals...but meanwhile the crow census was done and seemed to have data from two months AFTER the blackout?? (Also, if you have to wait very long why not just rent a car and drive from Seattle to LA, rather than wait for the airlines to get going again? Seriously.)
