I know plenty about the issues at hand; I'm just small-minded enough that I can discuss and strategize and analyze till the cows come home with people who mostly agree with me, but I'm not competent to thoughtfully defend the stuff that matters bone-and-marrow deep with someone who's jokey and dismissive.
