Well, that's very sensible. Imagine all the hair you'd ingest if you were eating at a live animal--not to mention the dramatically increased risk of spillage.

Rather than fermenting that gas or using thermo-chemical catalysts to produce ethanol, Coskata pumps it into a reactor containing bacteria that consume the gas and excrete ethanol.

Corn is about the worst choice for making ethanol, from efficiency, environmental, just about every perspective. Well, puppies would be worse I guess. But not by much.
My boss's dog comes and visits me (for petting) on most days.

Guess we'll see if they can scale the process up. I think that is the problem with using bacteria to produce butanol, it works on a small scale but doesn't scale yet. BP is working on making butanol, so hopefully something will come out of that. Butanol is a lot better fuel than ethanol.

Couldn't agree more. The push for corn ethanol is a bit of a sham.
